A relaxed little slice of paradise - that’s the best way to describe New Teddy’s on the Beach.

We’re a lodge for travellers seeking the perfect blend of relaxation and genuine encounters. Situated in the village of Jambiani on the south-east coast of Zanzibar, we offer beautiful, individual bungalows, warm hospitality, an authentic taste of life at the heart of our favourite island and a view that’s guaranteed to take your breath away.

We’re about a 1.5-hour walk along the beach from Paje – close enough to the hustle and bustle, yet far enough away to enjoy some peace and quiet.

The lodge has a wonderful spot for everyone: backpackers travelling on a budget, young people who simply want to experience island luxury at an affordable price and, of course, families who aren’t keen on faceless resorts but still want top-quality accommodation. That is us.

Great place, beautiful, clean and welcoming. Very attentive staff, helpful and pleasant. Comfortable room, and discreetly cleaned every day. Restaurant of good quality and service in peace. The pace is longer than in France. Everything is cooked by the minute. No frozen food except ice cream. Child well received. Swimming pool and very clean sanitary facilities. Pleasant theme parties. Very professional total staff: adapts to all holidaymakers. Asks us our opinion about our stay very often to improve our stay. I highly recommend this property.

I loved my stay at New Teddy's on the Beach from the moment I stepped onto its property. A paradise-like ocean hostel, right at the beachfront and underneath the palm trees. Lovely staff and delicious food. Both the sleeping room and the restaurant area are built in traditional architecture, which gave the place an even more enchanting atmosphere.🌴🌴🌴 Would love to come again - highly recommended.

What a wonderful place! We especially liked the almost family atmosphere! The many different guests from the different price categories, with whom you quickly get in touch. The German management that works fast and competently. The enchanting staff, both at the reception and in the bar and restaurant. The beautiful pool where you can swim excellently. And last but not least the good restaurant tips! Dear Leonie, thank you to you and your great team, we will definitely be back!

My stay at New Teddy’s in Jambiani was truly perfect. Everything exceeded my expectations – from the welcoming atmosphere and the amazing staff to the wonderful people I met in the dorm. The team is incredibly kind and always smiling. Special thanks to Kelvin and Yasir, who are wonderful people and made the experience even more enjoyable.

The location is fantastic, right on the beach – one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve seen. I also visited Paje while I was there, but honestly I liked Jambiani much more. It felt more authentic, peaceful, and special. I also highly recommend the excursions organized by the hostel. Everything was very well arranged and it was a great way to explore the island. I would absolutely stay here again and warmly recommend it to anyone visiting Zanzibar. 🤍🤍

We (3 adults and 2 kids) spent 5 days in this beautiful place. This accommodation is ideal for families with kids. The room was nice and clean and the staff superfriendly and welcoming (thanks to that, we were able to easily overlook the slower service). The food was good but we bit missed simple swahili kitchen (you can find anywhere around local restaurants so this is not an issue). The accommodation is in great location right by the ocean, so you can swim as much as you can (of course, when there's no outgoing tide). This accommodation is good value for money and I recommended it to everyone.

We spent nine days at Teddy's. We absolutely loved everything about this place. It's cosy, it's casual with a 'friends and family' atmosphere. If like us, you don't like big hotels and touristic places, and prefer the atmosphere over luxuries, you should check this place. We highly recommend the BBQ dinner. The food is delicious and the setting amazing. We thought that nine days would be too long for such a small village like Jambiani, but we were wrong.

Had the best time at Teddy’s! The dorm room is great, personal light and plug socket for everyone which is always appreciated. The room and bathroom were always clean. Lovely pool and perfect location right on the beach. The food and drinks were amazing. Staff were really fun and friendly. Great facilities, lots of sunbeds, plenty of seating areas, volleyball net and other fun activities. Excellent value for money. Will definitely be back! Highly recommend getting a massage at Millie’s!

It's a place of rare luxury and professionalism. I can't wait to go back as soon as possible!! (P.S.: Plus, the team created a whole decoration in our room for my friend's birthday—not just the bed, but the ENTIRE room!!) I love you, Teddy 💜
